About
Lorraine's is one of Sydney's eastern suburbs' most loved dining and events destinations - a stunning, light-filled restaurant and private function venue situated on Level 1 of the iconic Robin Hood Hotel, 203 Bronte Road, Waverley.
Lorraine's is named in honour of Lorraine Havin - the original owner of the Robin Hood Hotel and one of the first female licensees in New South Wales. The restaurant is a testament to everything she stood for: great food, great wine, and the joy of bringing people together.
Our bistro menu draws French inspired pub classics that comfort the soul. Open Monday to Saturday from 5.30pm. Reservations recommended. Alongside our French inspired menu, we're proud partners of award-winning Jack's Creek Beef, and our menu makes the most of their amazing products.
In addition to being open as a bistro, Lorraine's features three contemporary private function spaces, accommodating up to 200+ standing or 130 seated for weddings, engagement parties, milestone birthdays, cocktail functions, end of year celebrations and corporate events.
Heritage
Built in 1938 and heritage listed.
Since the early 1850's The Robin Hood Hotel has been located in its current position at the corner of Bronte and Carrington Roads. The Robin Hood Hotel of today was completed in July 1938 for Tooth and Co.
In designing the building, the architect made full use of the corner position, giving the building a most imposing appearance. The light colour of the bricks above the awning, and the light tiles from the footpath to the roof of the awning gives the building a brightness by day that is at once attractive. At night, floodlighting makes the hotel a picture.
